Foundation Awards

We have a new range of Foundation Awards that are available to UK Foundation licence holders from September 2023.

Foundation HF Award

  • Bronze: 40 contacts
  • Silver: 70 contacts
  • Gold: 100 contacts

Requirements: Minimum of 10 contacts and maximum of 25 contacts on any four bands as specified below; and a minimum of 15 and maximum of 50 contacts in each mode used.

Modes: at least two of CW, SSB, FM, AM, FT8/FT4 (FT8 and FT4 count as one mode), JS8Call

Bands: any HF band below 50MHz permitted by the licence

 

Foundation VHF Award

  • Bronze: 40 contacts
  • Silver: 70 contacts
  • Gold: 100 contacts

Requirements: Minimum of 10 contacts and maximum of 30 contacts on at least three listed bands; minimum of 15 and maximum of 30 contacts in each mode used.

Modes: at least two of CW, SSB, FM,  AM, RTTY, any digital mode (but direct contacts only, not via a repeater or gateway); note that FT4 and FT8 count as one mode; similar applies to any fsk/psk/afsk/msk modes that are only differentiated by phase, tone or frequency shift rate.

Bands: any vhf/uhf/shf band 50MHZ and above permitted by the licence

 

Foundation All-Bands Award

  • Bronze: 50 contacts
  • Silver: 100 contacts
  • Gold: 150 contacts

Requirements: Minimum of 10 contacts and maximum of 25 contacts on at least four bands; minimum of 15 and maximum of 30 contacts in each mode used.

Modes: at least four of CW, SSB, FM,  AM, RTTY, any digital mode (but direct contacts only, not via a repeater or gateway); note that FT4 and FT8 count as one mode; similar applies to any fsk/psk/afsk/msk modes that are only differentiated by phase, tone or frequency shift rate.

Bands: any bands permitted by the licence

Please send the completed application form together with a list of QSOs supporting it (in either csv, xls, or doc format, or as an adi file), to the Awards Manager at awards@rsgb.org.uk
