Planning a public event

Members of the public at Norfolk Science Festival, including amateur radio displays from Norfolk Amateur Radio Club

Running a public event or reaching out to community groups is not only great fun, but also one of the main ways that amateur radio can attract new people, of all ages.

The key to any event is thorough planning and we have plenty of resources to help you.

From advice on risk management (including insurance) and planning a Special Event Station (SES) to publicising your event and promoting amateur radio to the public, use our guidance documents to make sure your event is a success.

And don’t forget to print the checklists to make sure nothing is forgotten!
