Exams – trainers FAQ

COVID-19: Government restrictions in response to the pandemic meant that clubs haven’t been able to hold exams. As of 4 October 2021 clubs are able to book online examinations (all three licence levels) with paper exams being available from 1 November 2021. The RSGB is still providing remote invigilation exams at each licence level. For further details, see our candidate information.

No, anyone can teach on a course, licensed or not, though they should be familiar with what’s required.
Your club does not have to be registered to offer training, but the club must be registered before it can request examination papers or hold examinations. Download the RSGB Registered Examination Venue Application Form (EX100) from Exam Forms.
Please allow a minimum of two weeks - 10 working days - notice for all applications. If you have a candidate with special needs, please allow three weeks.
