AGM 2022

The 2022 AGM will take place on Saturday, 23 April 2022

This is the time of year when we call for volunteers to step forward for election at the RSGB 2022 AGM

The Society is run primarily by its Members and we seek volunteers who are willing and able to give their time and enthusiasm to ensure the Society continues to provide support to our Members and to amateur radio in the UK.

In 2022 we will be looking to appoint two elected Board Directors, two nominated Board Directors and eight Regional Representatives (RRs).

Board vacancies

BE PART OF THE RSGB BOARD

There are two elected Board Director vacancies.

If you are unsure whether to submit your application, read this important message from the RSGB Board Chair and the RSGB President. They would like to encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to be part of the leadership of the Society over the next three years, building on the exciting growth in amateur radio participation that the RSGB has enabled during the pandemic.

Completed papers, with their supporting nominations, must be received by 23:59 hours on 31 January 2022.

There are two Elected Director vacancies. The first occurs because Ian Shepherd, G4EVK leaves the Board having served the maximum term of six years—four years as Chair. The Society would like to thank Ian for the extensive work he has done for the Society during his terms on the Board. The second arose during the year.

There are two Nominated Director vacancies.  The first occurs because Stewart Bryant, G3YSX was elected as President at the 2021 AGM. The Board co-opted Richard Horton, G4AOJ to the Board to fill the vacancy and he comes to the end of his co-option term at the AGM.  The second arose during the year.

Members seeking election as a Board Director require the support of 10 Members entitled to vote from any part of the Membership.

Regional vacancies

Eight Regional Representative vacancies arise due to the current post holders completing their three-year terms, or because they were co-opted to fill a vacancy after the last AGM.

Applications are welcome from all RSGB Members living in the Region with a vacancy.

Those Regional Representatives (RRs) currently in post or who have been co-opted and who are eligible for election are invited to seek nomination for election.

The vacancies in Regions 4 and 8 occur because the current Representatives have completed at least two three year terms.

Article 34 provides that they cannot immediately stand again for re-election.

The three Regional Representatives—Kath Wilson, M1CNY, Ian Douglas, G7MFN and Philip Hosey, MI0MSO—who are leaving their posts have made significant contributions to the work of the RSGB and the Society would like to place on record its appreciation for the work they have done.

Nominations for the RR vacancies require the support of 10 Members who reside in the relevant Region and are entitled to vote.
