Spectrum access and defence – successes to date

The RSGB has been part of the following spectrum defence successes

  • On VHF (144MHz), as part of the WRC-19 preparation process, we helped prevent aeronautical mobile being added to the global Primary 144-146 MHz amateur and amateur satellite allocation.

  • On VHF (50MHz), as part of WRC-19, we campaigned internationally to obtain primary and secondary allocations in ITU Region 1.

  • Gaining additional bands: 136kHz, 472kHz and 5MHz.

  • Expanding 7MHz to include 7.1-7.2MHz.

  • Galileo radio navigation satellite system in 23cms (E6: 1258-1300MHz).
    A sustained effort since 2007 will preserve most amateur interests.
