Youth Award
This award is designed to encourage activity and exploration of the breadth of amateur radio, broadening younger amateurs’ interest and experience
It is available to those who are aged up to 26 and who hold an amateur radio licence.
It is hoped that this award will be a stepping stone to further RSGB awards and others across the world.
About the Youth Award
The purpose of this award is to encourage on air activity and self-learning about what you can do with amateur radio. There are four classes of award:
- Bronze
Use two modes with a minimum of 50 contacts - Silver
Use three modes with a minimum of 100 contacts - Gold
Use four modes with a minimum of 150 contacts - Platinum
Use five modes with a minimum of 300 contacts

Bands
Any band.
Rules
- The maximum age of those claiming the award is 26
- All contacts must be made in accordance with the terms of the transmitting licence and must not use any unattended operations
- Confirmation of two-way contacts is required either by QSL cards, ClubLog or LoTW for contacts on any band relevant to the chosen mode. The award is open to any young person who applies
