What else is happening at the RSGB 2026 Convention?

As well as an action-packed programme and three workshops to enjoy, there are a host of other activities you can take part in.

Welcome desk for first-time or solo attendees

A member of the RSGB HQ team, together with RSGB volunteers, will be on hand at the ‘Welcome desk’. Although this is primarily for first-time or solo attendees to make the event as friendly as possible, anyone can come and say hello!

The desk will be in the bar on the Friday evening from 18.30 to 19.30 and 20.00 to 21.00.

The team will be on hand to greet you, make introductions with like-minded people, and act as a familiar face throughout the weekend should you need any help. Pop along and say hello – we look forward to meeting you.

Friday ML&S welcome buffet

Friday night at Convention is going to be better than ever!

From 6pm – in the bar, RadCom Managing Editor, Ed O’Neill, M0TZX will be hosting an amateur radio quiz. Whether you want to improve your knowledge, just have some fun or are going for glory, we can’t wait to see you there!
From 7pm – Martin Lynch & Sons Friday night buffet. View the menu here.
From 8pm – in the restaurant, Martin Lynch will be giving a brief welcome speech in the restaurant. Martin is a long-standing sponsor of the Convention, and well known within the amateur radio community, both individually and as the owner of ML&S. This year is his 70th birthday and we’re delighted that he will be sharing some words to open our Convention weekend.

Gala Dinner / After-dinner speaker

The popular RSGB Convention Gala Dinner takes place on the Saturday evening. The formal three-course dinner includes wine, coffee and an after-dinner speech by Adrian Ciuperca, KO8SCA. Adrian is well-known for his DXpedition and Morse skills and will share his viewpoint that “A DXpedition is NOT a vacation!”.

This is a perfect opportunity to relax after a busy first day and share your experiences with like-minded people. Tickets sell fast and can be purchased on the main ticketing site. You can view the menu here.

AMSAT-UK Colloquium

We are delighted that AMSAT-UK is once again hosting its annual colloquium during the RSGB Convention weekend.

TNMOC

We’ve responded to feedback and we’ve partnered with The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) to offer Convention attendees the opportunity to visit on Friday 9 October. It is usually closed on Fridays, so this is a great time to see the museum. As a membership benefit, RSGB members will receive 30% off entry. Find out more about the museum here.
