Trevor Hughes, G4WKJ, SK
It is with much sadness, that we share the news that our former, and much respected, RSGB National Radio Centre (NRC) Volunteer Trevor Hughes, G4WKJ has passed away.
A great lover of music and a talented musician, Trevor was also the designer of the hugely popular SNAIL Morse key that is widely used, not just in the NRC, but at many of the RSGB Outreach events, to encourage and inspire youngsters to take up Morse code. With more than 2,000 kits personally donated by Trevor, he was awarded ‘NRC Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award’ in 2023.
Trevor was highly regarded by his fellow volunteers at the NRC for his warmth and friendliness, especially to those new to the hobby of amateur radio.
Our thoughts are with his wife Diana, G6FIO.
