David Thomas, G4OGW – 28 April 2026
It is with great sadness that I report the passing of David Thomas, G4OGW — known to many of us as “Old Grey Whiskers” — who went silent key on 28 April 2026.
David was a keen Morse operator and tutored many members of the Hereford Amateur Radio Society, myself included. He was FISTS member 3785. 
Radio was only one of his many passions. He also had a deep love of chemistry, photography, poetry, Singer automobiles, and jazz music.
David will be remembered for his warm hospitality and his endless supply of jokes. He will be sorely missed.
