Alan Pampling, G3RSP, 10th July 2017

| July 24, 2017

It is with great sadness and regret that I must inform you that my uncle, Alan Pampling, G3RSP sadly passed away on the 10th of July after a brief battle with cancer. Alan was a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy most of his working life and a keen ham when not at sea. He was, I believe, a member of the RSGB from his teenage years (along with his father before him). He was actively transmitting until his recent illness took hold back in February.

I know that Alan made countless contacts during his many years transmitting, in fact we have found a box with literally hundreds of QSL cards from all over the world and going back decades.
