Les Bagnall, G4CWD / ZL3WD, 5th October 2016
Albert Leslie (Les) Bagnall, G4CWD / ZL3WD passed away peacefully at home in his adopted New Zealand on the 5th of October 2016 at the age of 83.
Les was active on VHF and later HF from the 1960s, first as G8CQW then G4CWD.
Always active with his local clubs in Leicester and Derby, he was a successful DXCC holder, involved in Raynet, the Elvaston Castle Rally and many adventures abroad activating Islands in the UK and Africa.
He was also active in New Zealand, especially on HF on CW and also embracing the newer data modes.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him on and off the air.
