 Meet Chuck, WS1L (USA)

How long have you been licensed?

Since March 1983.

And how long have you been a member of the RSGB?

I joined the RSGB in May 2022. I was at the Dayton Hamvention and got chatting with someone at the RSGB booth and signed up on the spot.

What would you say is the best thing about RSGB membership?

I believe in supporting the organisations that support our hobby. I also hold the RadCom magazine in high regard.

Have you used the RSGB app to view RadCom?

I have used the digital versions but I enjoy the printed versions more.

What would you say to someone considering whether to join the RSGB?

Don’t hesitate. We are stronger together and the more members, the more influence we can have over things that may impact our hobby.

Which is your favourite mode?

I am a dedicated HF CW operator, and enjoy rag-chew QSOs almost every day. I was in the UK this past September and was able to operate from GB3RS, which was a highlight of the trip. (The photo above shows Chuck operating CW at the RSGB National Radio Centre at Bletchley Park).
