YOTA Bulgaria Day 4

| July 14, 2019

What did you get up to on Day 4?

In the Train the Trainer presentation, we learnt about NOTA (Nordics on the Air) subregional camps, which have been highly successful in previous years. Later, we practised and learnt knots for use with antennas. The day then continued with an excursion to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. We visited churches, government buildings and a local mall for souvenirs.

What was your favourite bit?
My favourite bit was knot making, despite all the tangles! It is a skill I will make good use of back home. I also enjoyed seeing beautiful Sofia, the historical architecture was amazing. One of the first buildings we visited was an old cathedral, the sounds inside it created a great atmosphere.

What did you learn that you didn’t know originally?
The TTT presentation gave organisational and funding tips. They also gave advice on keeping the cost of the camps to a minimum.

What are you looking forward to next?
Tomorrow we get to learn about and practise ARDF (Amateur Radio Direction Finding) in a local park. It will be a new experience for me.
