Regional Representative 13 (England East Midlands) Bob Hambly, M0HAF

Why did you choose to volunteer for the RSGB? Meeting people. Working as a team to make things happen.
How long have you been an RSGB volunteer? Â In total, I have been volunteering for the RSGB for seven years. First as DR134 for three years, and then in my current role as the Regional Representative for Region 13.
What would you say to people who are thinking of volunteering? I would definitely recommend volunteering and joining a family-like team supporting both local clubs and the RSGB. You will never be alone in your volunteer role and will always have advice and guidance from the Society, and camaraderie and respect from the clubs you support.
Which aspect of amateur radio would you still like to try? I am currently in recovery following a couple of strokes that hit me four years apart. I would love to deep dive into digital radio, but I do find programming difficult. At one stage, I was learning Morse and managed to achieve a respectable 23 words per minute but, after my strokes, I have dropped to 10 words per minute. I am, however, persisting in trying to raise my own speeds again.
