British Science Week – update to applicants of the free FM and Morse kits
RSGB Board Director/Board Liaison for Youth, Ben Lloyd, GW4BML, has given an update to groups who have applied for the free FM radio receiver kits and Morse code tutor kits, as part of British Science Week 2026.
“The RSGB Outreach Team received more than 250 applications for the free FM and Morse kits, and demand was so strong that the application process had to close early. The level of interest has been truly inspiring, and we are delighted to be able to send out as many kits as our funding allowed. This has only been possible thanks to the generous support of the RSGB Legacy Fund and the Radio Communications Foundation (RCF), whose contributions continue to help spark curiosity and enthusiasm for amateur radio among young people. The RSGB will be emailing every organisation this week to let them know whether or not their application was successful.”
