RSGB NRC volunteer given award for outstanding service

| July 29, 2021

Since the announcement of a national lockdown in March last year, and supporting the RSGB’s Get on the Air to Care campaign throughout, Nigel G4RWI has run the National Radio Centre net on 80m.

The net ran every day in 2020 and has continued on weekdays throughout 2021, running over 400 nets with hundreds of callers and thousands of QSOs.

The net was established to allow the NRC volunteers to keep in touch with each other and allow people who might have wanted to visit the NRC during the lockdown to join in.

Nigel received an award from RSGB General Manager, Steve Thomas, M1ACB for outstanding service to the NRC, its visitors, volunteers and for service to the amateur radio community.
