The CQWW RTTY DX contest ends its 48 hour run at 2359UTC today, the 27th. All contest bands from 2.5 to 28MHz are in use, RTTY only, and the exchange is RST plus Zone, which is 14 for the UK.

The UK Microwave Group contest is on the 5.7 and 10GHz bands from 0600 to 1800UTC today, the 27th. All modes are permitted, and the exchange is RS(T), serial number and locator.

The PW 70MHz Contest also takes place today, the 27th, running from 1200 to 1600UTC. Using all modes on 4m, the exchange is RS(T), serial number and locator.

On Tuesday, the 70MHz UK Activity Contest runs from 1900 to 2130UTC. Using all modes the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator.

There are three coinciding VHF-microwave events on the first weekend of October. The 1.2 and 2.3GHz Trophy Contest takes place for eight hours on Saturday the 3rd running from 1400 to 2200UTC. The exchange for both is signal report, serial number and locator. Starting at exactly the same time, but running for 24 hours, the 432MHz-248GHz Contest is where the serious microwavers will be found. Again the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator. Those who enter any of these contests will have their logs automatically forwarded for entry into the IARU event that runs from 1400 to 1400UTC, unless they specify otherwise.

The first international event of October is the SSB leg of the Oceania DX Contest. It runs for 24 hours from 0800UTC on Saturday the 3rd. There are sections for single-op and multi-op stations, with the points for QSOs different on each band. Work Oceania, that’s VK, ZL and Pacific islands, only. The exchange is signal report and serial number on the 1.8 to 28MHz bands.

The Worked All Britain HF Phone Contest takes place next weekend, 3 and 4 October from 1200 to 1200UTC. The exchange is signal report, serial number and WAB square. Entries need to be with the contest manager by 25 October 2015. Full details of the rules and log sheets may be obtained from the WAB website.

Finally, on the 4th, the 21/28MHz Contest takes place from 0700 to 1900UTC. Using CW and SSB the exchange is signal report, serial number and district.
