RESOLVED. RSGB website connectivity issue

| November 5, 2019

UPDATE. 10.15 – 07.11.2019

All RSGB web services are now available as normal—please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by yesterday’s issues which affected a server hosted by a third party services provider.

There is currently an issue with placing orders on the RSGB Shop which we believe may have been caused by the work to resolve yesterday’s issue. Progress on that issue is being updated in a separate post.

UPDATE. 13.08 – 06.11.2019

Following work on the server effected, we have restored most of the services effected by the connectivity issue, but some intermittent connection issues may remain owing to a backlog of requests.

If you are still having persistent issues connecting to an RSGB web server, please raise a support ticket at rsgb.org/helpdesk.

Please note there will be a server reboot for essential maintenance from 14.00 to 14.30 this afternoon, which will result in temporary unavailability of RSGB Membership Services.  This outage is planned so please do not report service outages during this period.

UPDATE. 10.23 – 06.11.2019

Unfortunately, the issue has deteriorated again, and there are now continuous outages on the following services.

  • RSGB Shop
  • GB2RS script download
  • Band Plans

Some services have already been moved to another provider, so the list above is shorter than before—we are continuing to relocate services as mitigation.

Again, our apologies for any continuing inconvenience.

———————–

Investigations into this issue have continued by our service provider this evening but the issue is still effecting the server in question.  Again, our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the problem.

———————–

We are experiencing intermittent connectivity on some of our web services.

These services are being affected—

  • RSGB Shop
  • Live news feeds
  • Some graphics on the site like the RSGB banner
  • GB2RS script download
  • Band Plans

We are currently in consultation with a third party service provider to identify the cause of the outages, which last for about a minute at a time.

We’ll update this page when we know more—our apologies for any inconvenience.
