Geoff, G4FKA receives first Worked All United Kingdom Prefixes Supreme Award

Geoff, G4FKA has recently been awarded the first Supreme level of the Worked All UK & Crown Dependency Prefixes Award. The award was introduced in 2025 and as Geoff says, “The series is good as it makes us go back to basics, working our own local stations, often overlooked in the hunt for DX”.
In recent years he has started claiming awards such as DXCC, WAS and WAZ, among others. In late 2024, Geoff started taking an interest in the various “on the air” programmes such as castles, parks and summits. He found he was spending more time on 40m hunting the UK activators, and this in itself increased the number of UK prefixes being worked, along with the many special event calls that had appeared during the year. When the Worked All UK & Crown Dependency Prefixes Award series was launched it was obvious to him that he should see what prefixes he had already worked in 2025 and then spend more time seeking out the remaining UK stations.
RSGB Awards Manager, Lindsay Pennell, GI3KME, says: “This is a substantial achievement requiring dedication, perseverance and a good understanding of propagation for intra-G working”.
Lindsey adds, “This award series is available to all radio amateurs, and shortwave listeners, in the UK and worldwide. I’ve received applications from as far afield as Japan and the USA. We hope it will inspire home-grown talent to start chasing the awards, and for clubs to start putting special club call signs on the air to provide the rarer call sign prefixes.”
