News for England South-East – 12 July 2020

| July 10, 2020

With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, we are now including meeting details where we have been given them. However, this information should be regarded as optimistic, and we strongly advise you to check with organisers well before travelling. Above all, please observe any national or local restrictions, including social distancing.

We start with very sad news. We learned this week that long-standing GB2RS Newsreader for East Sussex Dick Mattacks, G3EKJ, passed away Saturday, 27 June. Dick was the main GB2RS newsreader for the area over many years, and was previously the backup to his predecessor, G8SC. Dick was admitted to hospital in May after having a fall at his home, and while he was recovering from the related surgery, he failed to fully recover. He was 92 years old. Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.
