Marconi Radio group will be operating GB0SPD at Ballycastle sea front today to mark St Patrick’s Day. Activity will be on 40m through to 2m. The day has a variety of events including face painting for the children, Irish Dancing Music by Shane Kennedy, and a guest appearance by John Watt. There is a children’s painting competition for several age groups, with Cllr Sandra Hunter judging the entries and presenting goodie bags as prizes. The North Antrim Model Aircraft club will be putting on an aircraft and helicopter show, and a car boot sale will be on throughout the day.

Mid Ulster Amateur Radio Club is running a SOTA activation at Slieve Gullion from 11am today using MN0VFW and members’ own callsigns. On Tuesday the Intermediate course continues alongside a shack night. Next Sunday sees the club promoting itself at the Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club rally.
