News for England Midlands – 4 September 2016

We start with clubs that have several events this week. Lincoln Short Wave Club is taking part in SSB Field Day today from RAF Ingham. Tuesday sees participation in the 144MHz UK Club Contest. On Wednesday there are shack activities plus G5FZ on the air. Thursday at 8pm sees the club net via GB3LM and on Saturday there’s the regular surgery plus G6COL on the air. Midland Amateur Radio Society is at the Telford Radio Rally today. On Wednesday there’s an open meeting with the shack on the air and training classes. Details from Norman, G8BHE, on 07808 078 003.

South Birmingham Radio Society Club has a stand at Telford Hamfest, today. On Monday there’s work in the shack. Tuesday sees the regular coffee morning in the shack from 11am, and Thursday sees training classes with Dave Murphy, G8OWL. On Friday the trailer will be unloaded. Coventry Amateur Radio Society has its open net on Monday from 8pm on 145.375MHz FM and/or 7.16MHz ± QRM. On Thursday there’s an open net from 8pm on 50.175MHz SSB. Gloucester Amateur Radio and Electronics Society has its AGM on Monday. Wednesday sees the club net from 7.30pm, initially on 145.500MHz. On Thursday there’s a club net starting at 7.30pm on 145.550MHz, then deciding what to do and were to move to.
