We start with the news that long-time GB2RS Newsreader Geoff Darby, G7GJU is retiring. This week’s reading will be his last. Geoff’s North of England broadcasts cover a wide area and are also carried via G4OLK and G7MFN. Geoff has read the News for around 25 years and was a volunteer Regional Manager in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He says he has very much enjoyed the experiences and we thank him for his tremendous efforts over the decades.

Otley Amateur Radio Society has a net on Sundays from 8pm around 145.475MHz. Tuesday sees a net on GB3WF using FM from 7.30pm and switching to Fusion at 8pm.

Houghton-Le-Spring Amateur Radio Club has an open SSTV net on Sundays from 8pm on 144.700MHz FM. There’s Morse practice on Wednesday from 8pm. Contact George, M5GHT, on 0191 5488995.

South Manchester Radio and Computer Club has a net on Sundays from 10.30am on 3637kHz SSB. Tuesday sees a Morse net from 7pm around 3553kHz, then a technical net from 8pm, near 145.475MHz or 145.525MHz. On Wednesday it’s the Bangers & Boilers net from 8pm on 51.530MHz FM. Wear-side Electronics Amateur Radio Society has nets on Monday and Friday from 7pm via GB3TS.

Halifax & District Amateur Radio Society has a net on Monday at 7pm on 144.390MHz USB, an open net from 7pm on Tuesday via GB3WY and an open net on GB3HD from 7pm on Wednesday.
