News for England North – 1 December 2019

We start with an announcement by Bury Radio Society that they will be running training courses for all three licence levels in 2020. The Foundation course starts in January, the Intermediate in March and the Full course commences in July. All courses will take place at a dedicated training facility. Now for clubs that have more than one event this week.

Central Lancs Amateur Radio Club has its net this Sunday and next Sunday from 11am on 1.940MHz LSB. Next Saturday at 11am sees the monthly meeting. Contact Peter, G3UCA, via email to g3uca@blueyonder.co.uk.

Bury Radio Club has a net this Sunday and next Sunday from 6pm on 144.550MHz. Tuesday sees a construction night, continuing work on the dual band superhet receiver. For details, see buryradiosociety.org.uk.

South Manchester Radio and Computer Club has a net this Sunday and next Sunday from 10.30am on 3637kHz SSB. On Tuesday there’s a net from 8pm around 145.475MHz FM and Thursday sees a session of mini lectures. Details from Ron, G3SVW, on 01619 693 999.

Wakefield and District Radio Society runs the 2E0IPC Memorial Open Net from 10.15am on 144.600MHz FM this Sunday, and every Sunday. On Friday there’s a social and on the air night. Details from Charles, M0OXO, on 0790 050 0775.

York Radio Club has its breakfast meeting from 10am this Sunday. The net is on Wednesday from 8pm on 145.450MHz and Thursday sees a club night with training. For details, see yorkradioclub.uk.

Halifax and District ARS meets at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Mytholmroyd, from 7pm on Tuesday. Wednesday sees an open net on GB3HD from 7pm and on Thursday there’s a joint net with RAFARS on 145.350MHz from 7pm. Contact Martin, M0GQB, on 01422 341 317.
