News for England North – 19 August 2018

We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.

Oldham Radio Club has a D-Star net on REF 14B this Sunday from 9.30am, and Wednesday sees their 2m FM net from 8pm. On Thursday there’s a club night and the Intermediate course continues, and on Sunday it’s their C4FM net, FCS004-55, from 9.30am. Contact Mike, M1CVL, on 0740 276 3203.

This Sunday and next Sunday Warrington Amateur Radio Club is holding a solder Sunday and operating afternoon. On Tuesday evening there’ll be a presentation on operating and technical help. This Sunday Wirral Amateur Radio Society is operating GB2BHL from Bidston Hill Lighthouse, ILLW 0180, as part of International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend. On Tuesday there’s a natter night from 7pm and the Foundation course continues. Wednesday sees SSB field day planning and preparation at 7pm. On Thursday Pontefract and District Amateur Radio Society will begin operating GB250CC to mark Captain Cook’s first voyage in Endeavour.
