On Sundays, Appledore and District Amateur Radio Club has a net on 1.860MHz from 9.30am, followed by an SSB net on 144.260MHz at 10.30am. The Club has weekday nets taking place from 4pm on 145.450MHz, except Wednesday when the net moves to 144.260MHz between 8 and 9pm. Special Event Station GB0CCD will be on the air from the Callington Community Day on Saturday 27 April. Callington Amateur Radio Society will be operating via the QO-100 satellite, the HF bands and local repeaters, demonstrating amateur radio to the general public. The 25 April 2024 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Guglielmo Marconi. The Poldhu Amateur Radio Club manages the Marconi Centre at Poldhu and will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Marconi’s birthday by operating the Centre’s club station using the callsign GB2GM. The Marconi Centre will be open from 9am to 5pm to welcome visitors and a representative will give a talk on Marconi’s achievements. Visitors are invited to exchange greetings with the stations that are contacted. On Friday 26 April Poldhu Amateur Radio Club is welcoming Radio Operators Cornwall to continue the celebrations. Radio Operators Cornwall members will be operating the Centre’s station GB2GM until late, predominantly on the 20m band. The Marconi centre will be open for visitors during the day and visiting amateurs are welcome to operate in the evening.
