North Bristol Amateur Radio Club has a relax and chat evening this Friday, including operating and preparation for Railways on the Air. Next Saturday and Sunday, as part of ROTA, the club will be operating next to the station building at Avon Valley Railway. They also have permission to work ‘Railway Mobile’ from live rolling stock, so may have a second station signing /M. They will be using the callsign GB0AVR for Avon Valley Railway. The event coincides with Avon Valley’s 1940s weekend, so lots of people will be in period costume, with vintage vehicles, both civilian and military.
