We start with news that Weston-super-Mare Radio Society has this year introduced a series of five two metre DF hunts. Spearheaded by Jim Bryant, M0JWB, they will be held on a Monday club night or a Sunday afternoon, and start from a hilltop lay-by just outside Weston, NGR ST359579. The fox will be hiding somewhere within a 16km radius and make two minute transmissions every 10 minutes. Frequencies and other details will be announced at the meeting point. After the final transmission and the location announcement a buffet supper will be provided for all participants in a nearby hostelry. It is hoped that members from other radio clubs in the area will participate in this event and there is a £50 prize for the overall winner of the series. The dates and further details can be obtained from club secretary Martin Jones, via email to g7uwip@googlemail.co.uk.
