News for England South West – 10 August 2014

We start with an announcement by Itchen Valley Radio Society that due to circumstances beyond their control, there will not be a meeting on Friday 22 August.
Now for clubs that have several events this week. Flight Refuelling Amateur Radio Society is running its Hamfest rally from 9am today at Cobham Sports and Social Club, Merley, Wimborne. Next weekend sees a Foundation course on Saturday and Sunday. Also next Sunday there’s a talk on the Cobweb antenna by Mark, 2E0VOV. More information from John, G4POF, by email to g4pof@hotmail.com.
Poole Radio Society is at the Flight Refuelling Hamfest today. The 2m FM net is on Wednesday at 8pm. There’s an activity night on Friday and next Sunday sees a day in the park. Contact Bill Coombes, G4ERV, on 01202 246 515.
Exeter Amateur Radio Society is having an introduction to WSPR in the Moose Centre at 7pm on Monday. The 2m net is on 145.575MHz at 7.45pm on Tuesday and the HF net on Friday 3.675MHz at 7.45pm. Contact Nick, M0NRJ, on 01363 775 756.
