We start with news from clubs with several events this week.

This Sunday and next Sunday, Hastings Electronics and Radio Club has a net on 144.575MHz from 11am. Contact Gordon, M3YXH on 01424 431 909.

This Sunday, Loughton and Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society continues operating GB2RGM for Railways on the Air weekend, and Thursday sees a net from 8pm on 144.725MHz. Details from Dave, M0MBD on 0798 016 5172.

The Radio Society of Harrow holds a net this Sunday and next Sunday at 12 noon on 1938kHz LSB. This Sunday, they’ve also an outdoor event at Old Redding car park from 2 to 5pm. Surrey Radio Contact Club has a net this Sunday and next Sunday on 1905kHz at 9.30am. On Monday it hosts an autumn surplus equipment sale. On Thursday there’s a net on 70.300MHz at 8pm, and Friday sees another net on 145.350MHz, also at 8pm. Enquiries to John, G3MCX on 020 8688 3322.

Fort Purbrook Amateur Radio Club hosts an open net on Monday from 8pm on 145.275MHz. On Friday it holds its AGM in the marquee on top of the fort. Southdown Amateur Radio Society has its monthly meeting on Monday at 8pm, where Bob Downhill will be speaking on GEE nav alternative. On Wednesday there’s lots going on: an FM net on 145.275MHz at 8.30am, a Hailsham shack meeting at 10.30am, a cafe meeting at 12.30pm, and a CW net on 144.060MHz at 7pm. Chippenham and District Amateur Radio Club hold their regular weekly meeting on Tuesday from 7.30 to 9pm, while on Thursday they start the Foundation course with an induction evening from 7 to 9pm—a chance to meet other candidates and the trainers in an informal setting, to ask questions and learn about the course content.
