Video interviews

This year, each candidate was invited to have a video interview as part of the election process for elected Board candidates.

We wanted to give them the opportunity to share more about themselves as a person and to explain what they would bring to the role of Board Director. We hope the videos will help you, as an RSGB member, to get to know the candidates a little more than is possible in the written personal statements, and to be able to decide more easily who you feel is right to help lead the Society over the next few years.

The interviews were pre-recorded separately, and each candidate was asked the same set of questions. They were not told the questions in advance, other than the first one which asked about their amateur radio experience and interests. Each video interview is about 30mins long.

You can watch the interviews on our YouTube channel and on our website

Personal statements

You can read these on the candidates’ web page and on page seven of the April 2023 issue of RadCom. The statements are shown exactly as the candidate submitted them, without any editing.

Your choice counts

The elected Board Director information pack states that the Board of Directors shall conduct their activities and duties:

  • In a manner which recognises their accountability to the membership
  • With integrity and honesty
  • In a progressive, open, supportive and communicative manner
  • With professionalism
  • In a manner which embraces the principles of sustainability, equality and diversity

Read the candidate’s personal statements, watch the videos and see if their background, skills and aspirations match your view of what the Society needs.

There are three candidates for two elected Board Director roles. The decision who to vote for is entirely yours, but please do vote – it only takes a few minutes and will help to ensure that the RSGB Board reflects your views.
