DX News – 16 June 2013
From 5 to 8 July, North Wakefield Radio Club G4NOK will be operating as GJ4NOK on 4m. They will be operating from the shack of the Jersey Amateur Radio Society at La Moye, locator square IN89VE, IOTA reference EU-013. 4m from Jersey is still comparatively rare and they hope that demand will be high. The group will be operating on meteor scatter as well as conventional SSB and CW operation.
ZS6RJ will be on a one man DXpedition to Botswana as A25RJ starting 15 June. Activity will focus on the 10 to 80m bands, CW. QSL direct to his home address or electronically using Logbook of the World. There is no bureau service for Botswana.
K9HZ is on the bands as J68HZ from his villa on St Lucia, NA-108, operating on the 6 to 160m bands on CW, SSB and RTTY. He will be there until 22 June with a special emphasis on 160 and 80m operations. QSL via his home callsign.
EA4GBA will be operational as C91GBA from Mozambique from 27 June until 15 December. Activity will be on all HF bands using SSB with 100 watts into a dipole. QSL direct via EA4GBA. QSL cards will be answered once he arrives back in Spain early 2014.
Dave, W9DR will be QRV from the British Virgin Islands, which is IOTA reference NA-023, until 28 June. His callsign will be VP2V/W9DR and he will be on 6m SSB and CW. QSLs go via his home call.
John, K9EL revisits the Caribbean island of St Martin, which is IOTA reference NA-105, until 28 June. Look for him as FS/K9EL on all bands from 6 to 80m. QSL to his home call.
A small group of IOTA enthusiasts are operating as H44IOTA from various locations in the Solomon Islands including OC-168 over the next few weeks. They will also go to Temotu, which counts as a separate DXCC entity where the callsign will be H40IOTA. QSL Manager is NR6M.
