I was sadden to read of the passing of Peter Sheppard, G4EJP as he was instrumental in me gaining my A licence back in 1977. At the time I was a member of the Farnborough and District Radio Society and Peter helped a number of us practice for our Morse test at the army base in Aldershot, where he was serving at the time.
I remember him as a great character who was always enthusiastic and ready to help us budding radio amateurs.
He will be sadly missed.
