Mr A W W (Tony) Timme, G3CWW, 6 June 2015
I was sorry to read of the demise of Mr A W W Timme Known as Tony) in the August RadCom.
I knew Tony through his work with the 59 (Huddersfield) Sqn. Air Cadets.
He tried to teach me morse code but even with his first class teaching technique he was unable to. It took some years before I mastered it!!
Tony would spend many an hour on parade nights and at weekends teaching radio to cadets and getting them on the HF bands under the club call sign G3LUK, of which I am now the licence holder, and the ATC Sunday morning nets.
He sparked a number of cadets to go on to be amateurs in their own right.
