David Hicks, G6IFA, 19 May 2015
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of my uncle, David Hicks, G6IFA, who passed away quite suddenly on the morning of the 19th of May 2015 aged 71.
David grey up in Hounslow, West London and since moving to Cheshire, became an amateur in the early 1980s. He was very involved in RAYNET and latterly on the RSGB Legacy Committee as well as other organisations and charities. Certainly, there are few in the North West that do not know of David Hicks.
He was well known for his brand of humour, and his vocal nature, but underlying all of that, was a caring, passionate and interested man who will be missed by many, not least his family, including his daughter Vanessa, and his two granddaughters.
