DX News – 8 February 2015
From the 13 to 16 February a team will be active as PC2D from Ameland Island, EU-038. They will be on all bands from 160 to 10m using SSB and CW. During their stay on Ameland Island they will participate in the Dutch PACC contest on the 14th and 15th with callsign PC2D. Outside the contest the individual callsigns are used. For more information about this DXpedition see the QRZ.com page of Frank, PC2D. Contest QSOs made with PC2D will be confirmed via Logbook of The World and via the bureau. QSOs with individual callsigns will be answered according to the QSL information detailed on QRZ.com.
It is the last week of operations from Guatemala by VE7BV/TG9, as operations finish on the 17 February. It is a holiday style operation on 20, 17 and 15 metres using CW and SSB. QSL via his home callsign, direct, by the bureau or electronically using Logbook of the World.
Hrane, YT1AD has been visiting several Pacific islands. Look for him as 5W7A in Samoa, OC-097 from the 8 to 11 February, KH8/N9YU in American Samoa, OC-045 on the 11th and 12th and KH6/N9YU in Hawaii, OC-019 on the 13th and 14th. He will be operating all bands SSB and CW.
Four US operators will be active from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, NA-015, until 13 February. Calls to watch out for are KG4AS, KG4HI, KG4RQ and KG4YL. Activity will be on all bands 160m to 6m using SSB, CW and digital.
Operators N4BP, N4UM and K4RUM will be on the air as C6AKQ, C6ARU and C6AUM, respectively, from Grand Bahama Island, IOTA NA-080, from the 9 to 24 February. Activity will be on the HF bands. This includes entries in the upcoming CQ WPX RTTY and ARRL DX CW contests. QSL to home calls.
Bernhard, DL2GAC is on the air as H44MS from the Solomon Islands, IOTA OC-047, until 30 April. Activity is holiday style on 80 to six metres using SSB. QSL to home call.
