The closure of BBC long-wave
The BBC has announced that its long-wave service on 198kHz—currently transmitting BBC Radio 4—will close on 27 June 2026 at 1am BST. The long-wave transmitters at Droitwich in Worcestershire, Westerglen near Stirling, and Burghead—overlooking the Moray Firth—will be closed that day.
