Amateur DXing at 500 million miles

Two amateurs have successfully heard signals from the European Space Agency’s Rosetta comet-seeking probe. The first was James Miller, G3RUH. Temporary Top Band permits for Portuguese amateurs

The Portuguese telecommunications regulator has granted Portuguese amateurs the temporary use of the 1.850 to 2MHz band. According to Portugal’s national amateur radio society, this will permit Portuguese radio amateurs the ability to participate in more radio sports competitions during 2014.
