Candidate elected as a Director unopposed
Mark Jones, G0MGX

Curriculum Vitae

A licensed amateur radio operator since 1984 with a keen interest in home construction and software.
Author of the RSGB publication Microcontroller Know How.
Previous RSGB construction competition winner in 2015 (A Starter for 10GHz).
RSGB Board member from Apr 2018 – Oct 2019.

Commercial experience in the Nuclear and Aviation sector with Rolls-Royce from 1994 to 2020 when I left through voluntary
severance. During my time at Rolls-Royce, I achieved Principal and Chartered Engineer status. The last 10 years were spent in a highly
technical & customer facing role delivering fuel burn and carbon reductions for key aviation clients. My many responsibilities included
helping to manage change in the customer organisation.
Since leaving Rolls-Royce I have set up my own business offering property maintenance services and have built a large client base including care homes,
children’s homes, the local council, and many private clients.

Personal Statement

I genuinely believe there are huge opportunities for the future growth and development of Amateur Radio in the UK that the RSGB
must champion, and I am keen to contribute to the organisation that drive the overall direction and strategy forward into the future. The RSGB should not be
afraid to embrace any necessary change to make if fit for purpose now and into the future.
I was first licensed in 1984 and then sat and passed the Morse test to become G0MGX in 1989 and consider holding my licence to be a huge privilege.
I have previously volunteered with the RSGB as an honorary officer coordinating AROS and then as a director between 2018 and 2019.
More recently I authored the Microcontroller Know How RSGB title which I am told has sold well and proved popular.
I have a large amount of relevant commercial and technical experience that I believe can be of benefit to the RSGB as we move forward.
