Contest News 10 November 2013
The last of this year’s WAE DX contests, the RTTY leg, ends after 48 hours at 2359UTC on 10 November. Unlike the CW and SSB WAE contests in the RTTY leg everyone can work everyone. In WAE events QTCs or reports of a previously conducted contest QSOs, can add significantly to your total score, so before the event it’s well worth reading the rules on the DARC website to understand how they work.
On Tuesday 12 November the 432MHz UK Activity Contest takes place from 2000 to 2230UTC. Using all modes the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator.
Wednesday sees the 80m Club Sprint taking place from 2000 to 2100UTC. Using SSB only, the exchange is serial number and name.
The Second 1.8MHz Contest on takes place on the 16th and 17th from 2100 to 0100UTC and it is a CW-only event. It has sections for UK and non-UK stations and coincides with a number of other European contests, but please be aware that the European events don’t all have the same exchange as the RSGB contest. The exchange is signal report, serial number and District code.
