RSGB 2.4GHz Submission
Whilst the Ofcom amateur consultation on 2.3 & 3.4GHz is ongoing, the RSGB has released its response to an earlier Ofcom call for input on the adjacent 2.4GHz band, which has a mix of licence-exempt and amateur / amateur-satellite service use.
The RSGB response highlights that careful consideration is required to avoid a significant loss of capacity for both amateurs and the general public. The 2.4 GHz band supports a host of valuable consumer applications such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ZigBee.
