The RSGB’s Planning Advisory Committee helps member to appeal planning refusal

The RSGB is pleased to report that RSGB Member John Grieve, GM0OTI has successfully appealed Perth and Kinross’s decision to refuse planning permission for a proposed 15m tilt- over-lattice type telescopic mast at his home at Inchture.
Despite receiving no objections from neighbours and letters of support from one neighbour and the RSGB, the Perth and Kinross Planning Officer Planning Department refused the application refused planning permission citing “The proposal is not in accordance with the Development Plan and there are no material reasons which justify departing from the Development Plan.”
John contacted the RSGB’s Planning Advisory Committee for advice and submitted an appeal against the original decision. Perth and Kinross’s Local Review Body subsequently ruled in favour of John’s planning application and planning permission was granted for ten years. Work on installing the telescopic mast has now begun, as shown in the photo!
The RSGB provides a members’ service and booklet on planning matters – find out more here.
