RSGB DMR Youth Net a great success!

The fortnightly DMR Youth Net, organised by the RSGB Outreach Team, was launched in the Autumn and has been a huge success.

Young operators have joined the net from across Europe and has included teenager Sam, MI7WHD. He says: “I have really enjoyed being part of the net. It has been great fun talking to other young amateurs around the world. I look forward to each net to find out what everyone has been up to and to get new ideas. Thank you to the RSGB for providing me with the opportunity to take part”.

The most recent net was Christmas themed and net hosts RSGB Board Director, Ben Lloyd, GW4BML and RSGB Youth Chair, Chris Aitken, MM0WIC even brought out the Christmas Jumpers.

The net is open all, from those just starting out to young radio amateurs who already love getting on the air. It is a chance for young operators to build confidence speaking on the radio, connect with fellow young operators from around the world, and join in without needing to set up antennas at home.

The RSGB Youth Talk Group 23554 is available on the DVSPh and Brandmeister Networks. The next net is at 8pm (BST) on 20 January 2026, following a short break over the Christmas.
