If you took part in the RSGB High-altitude balloon (HAB) competition that was held on Saturday 20 September 2025 and are wondering what to do next with your LoRa tracker board, read on!

Licensed radio amateurs can re-code the tracker to beacon on the normal LoRa frequency.  You can then use it for tracking your car, motorbike, tractor, van, boat, lorry, horse or even yourself while out in the great outdoors.

You also use it for other amateur radio-related schemes such as SOTA – take your LoRa APRS tracker out with you and see how far away it gets picked up.

Dave Pegler, M0JKS has developed this guide to walk you through the process of re-coding your tracker, as well as giving you other ideas on how you can continue the fun!
