YOTA Paris 2025 – Day 5

| August 26, 2025

View of the Eiffel Tower from the river Seine

Today was our chance to see Paris! Our day began very early and after a series of trains we reached our first stop. We were treated to an amazing boat trip up and down the Seine allowing us to see a large amount of the amazing Parisian architecture, such as Notre Dame.

After this, we headed down to the Eiffel Tower, where we stopped in the neighbouring gardens for our picnic. Having taken loads of photos we moved on to see the Cité des Sciences museum, where we saw exhibits on engineering and industry such as solar powered planes and robotic arms.

F6KLO, an amateur radio club with an EME station

While at the museum we also had the chance to visit F6KLO, an amateur radio club with an EME station. Hearing QSOs and echoes from the moon as such a unique experience that we all loved.

When we got back we were all exhausted from a long day, but we did get a bit of operating in after dark. Sophie had a go with the QO-100 satellite station and managed to make a few SSB contacts from far-flung places around the world.
