Bangor and District Amateur Radio Society is now on its summer break. Meetings will resume on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning on the 9 September. The Society meets from 7.30pm in the Marquis Hall, Abbey Street, Bangor, BT20 4JE. For more information visit the Society’s Facebook page.

Today, the 17 August, Bushvalley Amateur Radio Club is taking part in International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend. The Club is activating all of the lighthouses on Rathlin Island using the special event callsigns GB2WL from the West Light, GB2EL from the East Light and GB1RP frum Rue Point light. The East Light is unique in that it has references ‘East High’ and ‘East Low’. Various HF bands are in use using SSB, CW and FT8. See QRZ.com for further information.
