Crawley Amateur Radio Club meets from 11am on Sundays, and 8pm on Wednesdays. Talks are held once a month on a Wednesday evening. On Wednesday the 16th of July, the Club will be hosting a talk on AI Coding which will be presented by Stewart, G3YSX. Non-members are most welcome and admission will be free. Cray Valley Radio Society meets at the 1st Royal Eltham Scout HQ at the rear of 61 to 71 Southend Crescent, Eltham London, SE9 2SD on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Visitors are always welcome. On Thursday the 3rd, from 7.30pm, Martin, M0MDR will be giving a talk entitled ‘How to get a US licence and what’s the point?’ Cray Valley’s 2m and 4m FM nets are held on 145.350MHz on Sundays at 10am, and on 70.425MHz on Fridays at 8pm. A Top Band net is held on the first Monday of the month, around 1.905MHz. This net begins using SSB and then moves to AM. All amateurs, especially Foundation licence holders, are always welcome to join in with these nets. Separate contacts with members via these nets, can also qualify for the Cray Valley Award Certificate. Please note that, with immediate effect, the Society’s official website has been changed to cvrs.uk

Cray Valley offers face-to-face training at all three licence levels. In September there will be a three-day face-to-face Intermediate licence training course with an online exam. This will be held on the 13th, 20th, and 27th of September between 8.30am and 6pm. Any Foundation licence holders within reach of the Club are welcome to apply. The cost is £70 and includes the exam fee. To apply online go to cvrs.uk  and follow the training tab for the online application form. The CW net is aimed at anyone new to CW or wishing to refresh their CW skills. Non-members are welcome. The net is followed by general conversation.
