News for Scotland – 20 October 2024
The date has been confirmed for the Twelfth Scottish Microwave Round Table GMRT. It will be going ahead on Saturday, 9 November 2024 at the Museum of Communication, Burntisland, Fife. Lunch will be provided and an optional dinner will be held in the evening at a local hotel. The programme is now confirmed and, at the moment, 43 people have booked to attend the event. There are only 7 places left so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Cockenzie and Port Seton Amateur Radio Club usually meets on the first Friday of the month for a Club night in the lounge bar of the Thorntree Inn. The next meeting will be held in November. Livingston and District Amateur Radio Society has a club night at the Crofthead Centre on Tuesday from 7pm. On Thursday, there is a net on 145.575MHz from 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join in. Today, the 20th, members are active for Jamboree on the Air, using the callsign GB6WL at Broxburn Scout Hall. All amateurs are invited to help introduce the young scouts to amateur radio by answering calls from GB6WL.
