Bangor and District Amateur Radio Society meets on the second Tuesday of the month in the Marquis Hall, Abbey Street, Bangor, BT20 4JE from 7.30pm. Tuesday 11 June, members are meeting for their end-of-year barbecue. For more information visit the Society’s Facebook page.
Bushvalley Amateur Radio Club meets at 8pm on the last Thursday of each month at Burnfoot Community Centre, 294 Drumrane Road, Burnfoot, BT47 4NL. For more information visit bushvalleyarc.org
Mid Ulster Amateur Radio Club meets on the second Sunday of every month from 3pm at Tandragee Golf Club. The Club holds a weekly net on Monday evenings on 145.475MHz. West Tyrone Amateur Radio Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 7.30pm at the Order of Malta Hall, Brook Street, Omagh, BT78 1DE. At the Club’s next meeting, on Wednesday 12 June, Ian GI0AZB and Esther GI0AZA will give a talk entitled ‘Hills, Radios and Lost Leads’ or ‘Irish Island Hills, Radio Hams and callsign controversy!’ The talk will encourage participation from attendees and the presenters welcome questions and sharing of information from all attendees or shared examples of their success or perhaps learning from past events. Particular learning will be discussed from the presenters’ experience of using aids to hearing and how this works in the field. Finally, there will be a session on technology devices that can enhance, and also challenge, the user of radio equipment both at home and portable in all weather conditions.
