On Wednesday, Bromley and District Amateur Radio Society has a net starting on 145.500MHz from 9pm. The Society is running an Intermediate course at its usual meeting place, Victory Social Club in Hayes, on three Sundays: the 12th of May, the 26th of May and the 9th of June. An exam will be held on the afternoon of the third Sunday. There are still a few spaces left on the course. Bury St Edmunds Amateur Radio Society meets at Rougham Tower Museum on the third Wednesday of each Month. It is a small but very active club. There are club nets every day of the week except Sunday. Due to the recent success of its first Fastrack one-day Foundation training course this year, Colchester Radio Amateurs Club is running another course on the 11th of May. The course will cover all of the Foundation syllabus and, at the end the day, finish with an examination, either online or on paper, so candidates leave knowing their result. During the course, the instructors will give practical demonstrations including operating, setting up a station, as well as mode and signal appreciation. Hastings Electronics and Radio Club holds a daily net on the GB3ES repeater at 10am. A CW net is held on Monday nights at 8pm on 144.575MHz. The CW net is aimed at anyone new to CW or wishing to brush up their CW skills. Non-members are welcome. The net is followed by general conversation. On Wednesdays, usually at 1pm, members meet up at various locations in the area for an afternoon of portable radio on the air on both HF and VHF bands using SSB, CW and FM voice. Members will be operating on the HF Bands, subject to working conditions, using CW, voice and data modes also as well as FM and SSB on the 2m band.
